KAUKAUNA – Get ready for a day of adventure and fun at the 1000 Islands Environmental Center’s “Focus on the Fox” event.

The day of fun and learning takes place on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This family-friendly extravaganza celebrates our connection to the Fox River and the great outdoors.

Kids and adults alike will love crayfish and critter hunts, papermaking, outdoor scavenger hunts and viewing underwater critters using aquascopes.

The Kaukauna High School champion Fishing Team will be on hand to teach fishing techniques and give out prizes.

Gather around the campfire for captivating stories from local author and historian Carol Mainville Van Boxtel and visit the Kaukauna Public Library’s pop-up library for interactive games and giveaways.

Don’t miss the exotic pet surrender hosted by J&R Aquatic Rescue, and learn about the rich history of the Fox River from the Grignon Mansion.

Plus, join in a river trash cleanup to help keep our environment beautiful.

Spend the day enjoying delicious food, hiking along the scenic river, and soaking in the sights and sounds of 1000 Islands.

This event is free and open to everyone, with handicap accessibility.

The 1000 Islands Environmental Center is located at 1000 Beaulieu Court in Kaukauna, off Hwy. Z
