KAUKAUNA — Every December, Gene VanderZanden puts on his red coat and hat and brings joy to Kaukauna children by working as Santa.

He partners with KHS’s Civic Engagement class and worked with Kristina Krueger this year, who helped coordinate this project.

Thanks to Krueger and VanderZanden’s efforts, the event earned almost $1,000, and VanderZanden was gracious enough to donate all the money he raised this winter to the KHS Student In Need fund.

Kaukauna Lions Club then matched that donation, totaling almost $2,000 donated.

The school district shared a post on social media saying, ‘Thank you to both Gene and Kristina for all of your work! What a great way to give back to our school!”

Paid partnership with StoneRidge Piggly Wiggly.
