KAUKAUNA — The city of Kaukauna has issued a proclamation declaring Jan. 22-26, 2024 as Adult School Crossing Guard Recognition Week.

“Always with a smile, they ensure the safety of our children getting to and from school each day. We owe them a big thank you not only during this week, but always! Give them a wave, or a happy honk, to show your appreciation,” read a from the city announcing the proclamation.

Two weeks ago, crossing guards in received a special surprise from Kaukauna High School student council students to thank them for their dedication.

The students surprised these crossing guards with a sweet treat and personalized mug.

The gesture was to show their gratitude and appreciation for these men and women who brave the elements to ensure students arrive and depart school safely every day.
