LITTLE CHUTE — Traffic was slowed this evening on I-41 near Little Chute after a semi jackknifed in the strong winter storm.
At 3:53 p.m. Tuesday, the Vandenbroek Kaukauna Fire Department was dispatched to I-41north between Hwy CC and Hwy 55 for a jackknifed semi.
When they arrived, crews found the semi was blocking both lanes of traffic and was spilling fuel from a ruptured gas tank.
Firefighters were able to catch the leaking fuel until a remediation company was able to remove the gas from the tank.
The semi was also tangled in the cable barrier, complicating the removal of the truck from the highway.
Crews were able to clear the scene around 6:45 p.m.
