UPDATE: A 42-year-old Little Chute man is dead after being hit by a vehicle Sunday evening on I-41.

The Wisconsin State Patrol Fond du Lac Post, along with Fox Valley Metro Police Department, Outagamie County Sheriffs Office, and Appleton Police Department responded to Interstate 41 northbound, south of Holland Road for a single vehicle crash involving a pedestrian at approximately 6:15 p.m.

State Patrol investigators say a commercial motor vehicle driven by a 25-year-old Green Bay man was traveling north on Interstate 41 when his vehicle struck a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a 42-year-old man from Little Chute, sustained fatal injuries from the incident.

The names of the individuals involved are not being released at this time.

The Wisconsin State Patrol Technical Reconstruction Unit was on the scene of the crash.

The northbound lanes of Interstate 41 were closed for over three hours during the investigation.

LITTLE CHUTE — The northbound lanes of I-41 at 441 are closed following a crash reported at about 6:20 p.m. Sunday.

Additionally the system ramp from HWY 441 north to I-41 north is also closed as of 8:20 p.m., according to the Wisconsin DOT.

Alternate Route: Northbound traffic on I-41 can exit and go east on CTH OO, then go north on Freedom Rd back to I-41.
