A 42-year-old Little Chute man walking on I-41 is dead after being hit by a vehicle Sunday evening, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

LITTLE CHUTE — A 42-year-old Little Chute man walking on I-41 is dead after being hit by a vehicle Sunday evening, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

The Wisconsin State Patrol Fond du Lac Post, along with Fox Valley Metro Police Department, Outagamie County Sheriffs Office, and Appleton Police Department responded to Interstate 41 northbound, south of Holland Road for a single vehicle crash involving a pedestrian at approximately 6:15 p.m.

State Patrol investigators say a commercial vehicle driven by a 25-year-old Green Bay man was traveling north on Interstate 41 when his vehicle struck a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a 42-year-old man from Little Chute, sustained fatal injuries from the incident.

The names of the individuals involved are not being released at this time.

The Wisconsin State Patrol Technical Reconstruction Unit was on the scene of the crash.

The northbound lanes of Interstate 41 were closed for over three hours during the investigation.
