KAUKAUNA — Posts about lost pets are common in the Kaukauna Community News Facebook group. But a post about a particular pet last week was rather unusual.

Several group members reported seeing what likely was a pet ferret on the run on Kaukauna’s north side.

It wasn’t long before Kaukauna police were on the case, and captured the wayward animal.

“Hello, Kaukauna! This cute little ferret was found in the area of Sunset Ave and Janet St this evening! If you know who it’s owner may be, please give us a call,” they wrote on a social media post.

Shortly after the owners learned police had their pet, Lucy was back home safely.

“She has never been on an adventure like that, and I don’t know what I’d do if she wasn’t found!! Back home with her binky!! Thanks again everyone!!” wrote the owner in a post in the Facebook group.

A happy ending for all.
