APPLETON — A teen was shot early Sunday morning in an Appleton park and was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to an Appleton Police Department news release, officers responded about 1:45 a.m. Sunday to Arbutus Park, located on W. Packard St., for a report that someone had been shot during a disturbance.

When they arrived, officers located a teenager who had been shot.

The shooting victim was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation determined that this was a targeted incident involving groups of people that were known to each other, according to police.

An arrest has not yet been made, but police are continuing their investigation.
