GRAND CHUTE — A Grand Chute Fire Department firefighter/paramedic received a warm welcome home earlier this week after his recent military deployment.
Firefighter / Paramedic Seth Barr had been deployed and serving overseas as a member of Alpha Co (ARES Co.) 2-127 Infantry Battalion, 32nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team.
Fellow firefighters were on hand at the airfield as Barr’s flight arrived at 12:45 a.m. Thursday.
Barr’s unit was supporting Operation Inherent Resolve against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. Launched in 2014, the coalition’s mission is to advise, assist, and enable local partner forces until they can independently ensure the enduring defeat of the terrorist group.
“We were thrilled to welcome him home at 12:45 this morning.” the department posted Thursday on its Facebook page. “We missed you brother. Welcome home!”
