KIMBERLY — The Kimberly Fire Department Monday night recognized Honorary Firefighter Todd Weyenberg on his retirement after 22 years with the department.

In a viral social media post that quickly gained thousands of reactions, the department thanked Weyenberg for his years of service.

Hundreds of comments thanked Weyenberg for his contributions.

“Every Monday he would come down and grab the roster and start checking off names. He would have other tasks, and would do them with no question. He was as vital to our Fire Department as everyone else,” read one comment.

“I hope our community sees the value Todd has had to our fire family. Through our compassion and respect for Todd (current and retired firefighters), The Kimberly Fire and EMS family honoring Todd for his 22 years was nothing short of first class.”
