KAUKAUNA — The Kaukauna Fire Department responded Sunday at approximately 8 p.m. to a garage fire on Armstrong Court, were a neighbor reported a detached garage was engulfed in flames.

The Kaukauna Fire Department arrived on scene in under 5 minutes from dispatch to find smoke and flames coming from the front of a detached 2 ½ stall garage.

Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the exterior fire.

Once the fire was knocked down, a hole was cut in the garage door, and handlines were used to extinguish any remaining fire.

Fire was under control within 10 minutes of arrival.

Fire damage was confined to the garage, with no damage occurring to the house or neighboring structures.

No civilians or firefighters were hurt in the fire, and no residents were displaced.

The house was unoccupied at the time
of the fire, as the owner was just completing renovations.

An alert neighbor spotted the fire and quickly notified 911.

Damages to the building and its contents are estimated to be $40,000.

The Kaukauna Fire Department was assisted by Kaukauna Police Department and Kaukauna Utilities.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
