SHARON — Valley of the Kings, a private, non-profit sanctuary in southern Wisconsin that provides a permanent haven for abused, abandoned and injured exotic and domestic animals is collecting donations of fall leaves for its bears.

The bears love to roll and play in them, then pull them into their dens and make a nice nest for themselves. It would be awesome to have enough to last all fall and into the winter.

Donated leaves must be dry, bagged and tied or zip striped. You can drop off at the Sanctuary 24/7 at
W7593 Town Hall Rd, Sharon.

There is a deck to the left as you pull in our driveway.

Founded more than 50 years ago by Jill Carnegie, the sanctuary is dedicated to giving these animals a final home where they receive lifelong care and positive human interaction.

Animals include lions, tigers, bears and wolves.

The facility in Sharon, Wisconsin, which operates on a limited budget and relies entirely on donationsmemberships, and volunteers, is not open to the general public but allows visits for paying members by appointment.
