EDGERTON — A tight band of storms Friday morning dropped hail up to the size of baseballs on communities in the southern part of Wisconsin.

Photos posted online beginning about 7:30 a.m. showed golf ball sized hail and larger in Edgerton, Evansville and Milton.

Ruby Schleif of Edgerton was one of those sharing to social media when she posted photos of a yard covered in hail that ranged from the size of a marble to nearly a baseball.

Other residents reported even larger hail and dings to their vehicles along with roof damage.

The storm began moving into the area about 7:10 a.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service, along with wind speeds as high as 60 m.p.h.

Another band of storms that could produce more hail and damaging winds is expected to move through Rock County Friday about dinner time.
