“Support Others, Support Yourself” Mural Completed as Part of Mental Wellness Campaign
KAUKUANA — A new mural has been completed in Kaukauna as part of the SupportOthersSupportYourself.com initiative, a vibrant and impactful art installation designed to promote mental wellness, community connection and personal empowerment.
The mural is now displayed at 143 E Third St., on the wall of The Pub downtown in the recently completed section of the Alley Activation Project.
Local artist Irineo Medina created the mural, which incorporates powerful imagery and messages of hope, resilience and compassion, according to a news release.
The groups behind the mural hope that the mural will inform our community of the information posted on SupportOthersSupportYourself.com in an effort to foster mental health awareness.
While viewing the mural, you can easily connect to the website by scanning a QR code installed on the side of the building.
Outagamie County Public Health and community partners were able to complete the mural with the help of a grant from the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region.
Outagamie County Public Health also thanks the owner of The Pub, Cheryl Gloudemans, for her support in this initiative and for the space on her building.
Another mural is planned for 2025 in Grand Chute. More details will become available in the coming months.
About SupportOthersSupportYourself.com
SupportOthersSupportYourself.com is a website dedicated to fostering mental health awareness and providing individuals with tools and resources to support both themselves and those around them.
Local data and subject matter experts showed that people are most likely to seek mental health help from friends or family. However, data also shows that we may not be equipped with the right tools and information to help someone in need appropriately. This initiative was identified as a need from our community members through the Outagamie County Public Health Community Health Improvement Plan.
The website is a collaborative effort between many community partners. We would like to thank Catalpa Health, Diverse & Resilient, Fox Valley Data Exchange, NAMI Fox Valley, People of Progression, and the N.E.W Mental Health Connection for their support and work on this important initiative.
