OSHKOSH — Oshkosh police on Saturday announced the arrest of a 21-year-old man from Oshkosh in connection with a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run early that morning.

According to a news release from police, at approximately 2:55 a.m., officers were called to the area of New York Avenue and Goss Court in Oshkosh.

That’s where they found a pedestrian lying in the roadway that appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.

That vehicle left the scene prior to officer’s arrival, police say.

Emergency responders attempted lifesaving measures but were unsuccessful, and the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Oshkosh Police Department is encouraging those that live in the area to check your security cameras for any activity between the hours of midnight and 3 a.m. for additional video.
