KAUKAUNA — Workers have removed the remaining bricks from the front of the Galleria of Tile store in Kaukauna.

The work comes after a section of bricks fell to the road below on June 16.

That’s when firefighters were called after part of the front brick façade of the two-story commercial building had fallen off the building, landing onto the roadway blocking north and south bound traffic.

Firefighters assisted the upstairs tenant from the building and worked with the American Red Cross to find the tenant housing.

No injuries or damage to other property was found at the scene.

Engineers recommended that the remaining bricks be removed, according to WFRV TV news.

Co-owner Amanda Septimo told Local 5 News that in the days following the tornado that ripped through Kaukauna at the end of May, she noticed that some bricks on the facade appeared loose and twisted.

She said she alerted her husband, who contacted a contractor. However, the contractor kept on canceling, and the facade collapsed a few weeks later on Father’s Day.
