UPDATE: Lawe Street in front of the building from Taylor Street to Wisconsin Ave will be closed until further notice.
KAUKAUNA — Bricks from the facade of the Galleria of Tile building on Kaukauna’s north side have fallen onto the sidewalk below.
Witnesses reported the collapse from the building at 319 Lawe Street shortly before 6 p.m.
Photos posted to the Kaukauna Community Group show police have closed off nearby streets.
One resident of an apartment in the building has been displaced.
In 2020, a building on the same block was razed after similar brick siding began to crumble and fall onto the sidewalk below.
At the time, Alderman Marty DeCoster raised the alarm of dangers from the falling facade.
