KAUKAUNA — James H. “Jim” McDaniel, who served on both the Kaukauna Common Council and Outagamie County Board, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, 2023, at age 91.
McDaniel served as a Kaukauna alderman for 16 years and Outagamie County Board supervisor for 22 years, according to his online obituary.
He was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus and volunteered at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna for more than 45 years as a Mass server.
McDaniel serviced in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Kaukauna VFW Post #3319 and American Legion Post #41.
James worked for the Outagamie County Highway Department and retired as Superintendent after 42 years of service.
McDaniel married Betty Matchett on May 21, 1955, and together have shared over 68 years of marriage.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, at St. Katharine Drexel Parish-St. Mary Site in Kaukauna.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
