KAUKAUNA — Kaukauna senior Carson Van Dinter has been named a finalist for the Jim Leonhard Award given annually to the top senior defensive back in the state as part of the WSN Senior Football Awards.

The award is named after former Flambeau High School and University of Wisconsin athlete Jim Leonhard, who went on to great success for the Badgers and in the NFL with the Bills, Ravens, Jets, Broncos, and Saints.

Van Dinter earned unanimous First Team All-Conference and FVA Defensive Back of the Year honors this season for Kaukauna, according to WisSports.net. An Iowa State commit, Van Dinter recorded 42 tackles, three tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, and two interceptions in his senior season.

Van Dinter and the Ghosts are back in action Friday in a WIAA Division 2 Level 2 playoff game against West De Pere. WATCH
