FINAL: Kaukauna scored on its opening drive, but a defensive stand in the final minute sealed the 7-0 win over Appleton North.

APPLETON — The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts football team hopes to leapfrog Appleton North in the Fox Valley Association Conference standings when they return to the road Friday for a 7 p.m. game against the Lightning.
The game will be televised on WACY TV32 and stream online HERE as the NBC26 Sports Showdown game of the week.
In a high-scoring shootout a week ago, the Kaukauna came back in the second half for a 42-35 win over Oshkosh West.
One more win gives Kaukauna a winning conference record and qualifies the team for post-season play.
The Ghosts, 5-1, 3-1, sit one game behind undefeated Kimberly in the Fox Valley Association conference standings.
North, also 5-1, 3-1, dropped their first game of the season last Friday in a 7-6 loss to Neenah.
Neenah’s only loss of the season came in week 4 against Kaukauna, so the merry-go-round at the top of the conference standings continue.
Kimberly faces a challenging stretch to finish the season facing Neenah, Kaukauna and Appleton North in consecutive weeks beginning Friday.
