KAUKAUNA — Construction of a new headquarters is under way at Kaukauna-based Midwest Carriers following a June 26 groundbreaking ceremony at the site.
The leadership team from Midwest Carriers along side the Van Handel family sported golden shovels and hard hats to celebrate the groundbreaking last month.
The new 71,150 square-foot facility will be located on Buchanan Street in Kaukauna just off Highway 41.
“We’re thrilled that our new headquarters will bring us all together in one location and that we’ll be able to offer more amenities for our drivers and admin staff who are part of our growing family,” said President Eric Van Handel in a news release.
Midwest Carriers is affiliated with freight carrier Osborn Trucking (www.osborntrucking.com) and is currently spread across four buildings in the area. The one new location will also be convenient for drivers who can take advantage of 24/7 access to a lounge, kitchen, laundry and showers, maintenance and a truck wash bay.
“It’s important that all of our drivers feel like they have a work ‘home base’ that meets their needs at any time of the day or night,” Van Handel said. “We also know this is the right time to make this investment in our business and the community/region.”
In addition to employees from Midwest Carriers, other attendees at the groundbreaking ceremony included representatives from US Bank, who are providing financing for the project; Utschig, the contractor leading the construction; and the Village of Little Chute. Parker Johns BBQ catered in food and beverages.
Construction is planned to be completed in early 2024.
