KAUKAUNA — Kaukauna’s Electric City Youth Soccer Association and the Kimberly Area Soccer Association will combine this fall to form River Surge FC, the clubs announced today.

After months of discussion, the clubs say they have come to the mutual conclusion that they can better serve their communities by combining forces and joining together to form a single combined soccer club.

The new club will be effective August 1, 2023.  This ensures River Surge FC is operational for the Fall 2023 – Spring 2024 season.

Spring teams are not affected.

Ultimately, the clubs’ say the goal of the union is to create the best environment for youth soccer in Northeastern Wisconsin.

The Kaukauna and Kimberly clubs say theirs is a merger of equals in which both clubs come together because of their similarities to create something new and better than before.

This merger also is based on geography. The communities in the Fox Cities are very close together. The clubs already are sharing fields and a merger of clubs located a few miles apart makes sense.
