UPDATE: An hours-long standoff in Kaukauna ended with the arrest of a man believed to be armed and dangerous.
Kaukauna police say they made contact about 3 a.m. with what they describe as a suspicious male in the 1400 block of Crooks Ave.
Officers learned that the 42-year-old suspect had a felony warrant for his arrest, according to a news release.
While officers were talking to the man, they say he became uncooperative and fled the scene in his vehicle.
Officers were able to use tire deflation devices on the vehicle as he fled the scene.

UPDATE 10:20 a.m.: Witnesses are reporting that someone got out of the truck and started running north away from the scene. Officers have now taken the suspect into custody.

UPDATE: Police remain on the scene as of 10 a.m. of what they are calling an “active incident,” according to witnesses posting to the Kaukauna Community News Facebook group.
Witnesses say there has been little activity since about 8 a.m.
According to photos taken near the scene, a red pickup has been pinned between two sheriff’s office large scale military style vehicles.

KAUKAUNA — Police are are responding to an active incident on County Highway CE near Fieldcrest Dr. in Kaukauna.
Police sent out a news release about 6:30 a.m. Thursday, although witnesses posting to Kaukauna Community Group say the incident began about 2:30 a.m.
The incident is taking place near Dr. H.B. Tanner Early Learning Center, one of Kaukauna’s public schools, however the district is off on spring break this week.
They are asking to please avoid the area as officers work to resolve the situation.
