KAUKAUNA — Following a strong season that continues this week with sectional play, the Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts girls’ basketball team has placed three players on the All-Fox Valley Association season team.

Senior forward Alana Zarneke and Junior guard Alexa Kinas both were unanimous 1st-team selections.

Sophomore forward Addison Baumgart was named to the 2nd team.

Kinas also was the lone-unanimous selection to the all-defensive team.

The Ghosts, who finished the season in third place in the conference, relied heavily on Kinas and Baumgart after Zarneke’s season ended with a knee injury earlier in the year.

Kaukauna, a 3 seed in the post-season tournament, will face #7 Kimberly at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 2 at Oshkosh North High School.

Kaukauna defeated Green Bay Preble 69-51 in the Regional semifinal last week.

Kaukauna defeated Menomonie Falls 68-60 Saturday to claim the Regional title.

The 2023 State Girls Basketball Tournament will be held Thursday-Saturday, March 9-11, 2023 at the Resch Center, Green Bay, Wis.

DIVISION 1
Semifinals – Friday, March 10
Championship Final – Saturday, March 11

The Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts boys’ basketball team, a 6-seed, will host its opening round game Friday, March 3 against 11-seed Manitowoc Lincoln.
