OSHKOSH — The Pyrothechnics Guild International has passed over Wisconsin International Raceway and announced today it will hold its 2023 convention in Oshkosh.

Last month, the guild said its request for an event permit for W.I.R. had been approved by the Buchanan Town Board, however they were still negotiating with the town and Oshkosh over a 1 a.m. curfew.

Pending final regulatory approvals, the group said it plans hold its convention, Aug. 12-18, 2023 at the Sunnyview Expo Center in Oshkosh.

The group said it hopes to finalize the deal in the coming weeks.

They are now working on the details for onsite camping and will provide information on this in the first quarter of 2023.

Convention plans are to have all activities onsite at the convention venue.

The group previously held its conventions in Kaukauna in 2001 and 2010.
