KAUKAUNA — Kaukauna’s Grignon Woods will close to the public starting Monday for an environmental remediation project to reduce runoff to the Fox River, the city of Kaukauna announced Thursday.

The closure will begin Monday, Dec. 19, 2022 and last for approximately 4-6 weeks.

The parking lot and sledding hill will remain open for use for the majority of the project.

Work includes removing several trees (mostly dying ash trees), cutting buckthorn, rehabilitating/replacing sanitary sewer, and restoring the eroding banks of the stream corridor.

The project is part of a DNR Grant to reduce sediment and nutrient discharge to the Fox River.
