Welhouse and Stumpf weren’t the only bowlers from Kaukauna to have success at the tournament. KHS alum Andrea Mau won the 22-29 division.

The 2022 Special Olympics Wisconsin Bowling League season culminated in the State Bowling Tournament, held December 3-4 in Wausau.

Athletes that placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in Regional League Play advanced to the State Competition. Athletes competed in singles, doubles, team and unified events.

Chad Heshner, the President and CEO of Special Olympics Wisconsin, told WAOW TV, “This is the first time we’ve had this event since the pandemic. This is their community, this is where they find strength, this is where they find hope, this is where they find unity.”
