KAUKAUNA — Surface milling is expected to begin Monday as work continues on the resurfacing of Hillcrest Drive in Kaukauna.

The road will be closed, except for local access, from the end of Hillcrest Drive near the pool and continues to the end near the high school.

Also Monday, Island Street in the same area will be closed because of bridge work.

The Hillcrest Drive project will improve the existing asphaltic surface by profile milling and installing a new asphalt overlay for this segment of highway, according to the Outagamie County Highway Department.

Minor drainage and safety improvements may also be made.

Construction concrete curb and gutter repairs began the week of August 1 with milling of the existing pavement currently scheduled for the week of August 15.

Placement of a new asphalt overlay will occur later in the month. A signed detour will be posted and utilize CTH CE, WIS 55, and CTH Z.
