Teesch

KAUKAUNA — Kaukauna Fire Department Assistant Chief, Travis Teesch, has been hired as the new fire chief in Watertown.

The Watertown Police and Fire Commission approved making a conditional offier to Teesch at its April 2, 2022 meeting.

In a post Wednesday, the Kaukauna Professional Firefighters Local 1594 congratulated Teesch on his promotion.

“Our union would like to give special thanks to Assistant Chief Teesch for his many years of service to the City of Kaukauna,” read the post. “We’re very sad to see him go but nobody deserves the promotion to Fire Chief more! Congrats AC Travis Teesch, Watertown is lucky to have you!”

Teesch’s predecessor, Kraig Biefeld, devoted 29 years of his life to serving others through the fire service and emergency management.

He retired Monday, according to the Watertown Times.

Watertown straddles Dodge and Jefferson counties, about halfway between Madison and Milwaukee.
