KAUKAUNA — Anglers from the Kaukauna High School fishing team took advantage of familiar surroundings Saturday to win the ‘Eyes on the Fox walleye tournament.

Kaukauna’s first-place team No. 2 included Jack Berken, Riley Hemme, Caleb Fritsch and boat captain Chad Berken.

The tournament took place Saturday, April 2, 2022, on the Fox River near De Pere.

Kaukauna’s top six walleyes combined to total 144″, anchored by 26.5″ and 26.25″ fish.

First place prize included four $50 Fleet Farm gift cards.

The closely contested event saw the Menasha Fishing Team finish in a close second, followed by Appleton East, Slinger and North Fondy in the top five. Thirty-five teams competed in the event.

Tristram Morris of Waupaca High School caught the biggest student-angler walleye at 28″.
