APPLETON — The Old Glory Honor Flight’s ‘Pulling for Honor’ fundraiser is back at the Appleton Flight Center after being cancelled for the past two years.

Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson made the announcement Tuesday.

Teams in the competition are tasked with pulling a 200,000 pound plane 12 feet as fast as they can, while raising money for Old Glory Honor Flight. The flight takes local veterans to Washington D.C. on a one-day trip to see the memorials built in their honor.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 20, 2022 at the Appleton.Flight Center

Pulling for Honor is a plane pull competition fundraiser for Old Glory Honor Flight and also includes a children’s plane pull and veteran’s exhibits (providing vital information regarding services available for veterans in our community).


Paid Partnership

Each team comprises of 20 people, and the team that pulls the plane 12 feet the fastest wins. Each team is required to raise a minimum of $1,500 in order to take part in the competition. If competing isn’t for you, you can still join in the fun and help give thanks to our U.S. Veterans.
