APPLETON — An Appleton man was arrested after police say he led them on a chase in a stolen skid-steer Thursday morning.

Appleton and Grand Chute police responded about 7:30 a.m. Thursday to a report of a theft of a skid-steer in progress near the Appleton and Grand Chute border.

Officers located the skid-steer in the area and attempted to redirect the route of travel so it could be safely stopped, according to a news release.

Video from WBAY showed the skid-steer driving through residential neighborhoods.

The skid-steer left Appleton’s jurisdiction and entered Grand Chute along Capitol Drive.

The driver, later identified as Tyler J. Peschke, 37, was taken into custody by Grand Chute officers in the 4900 block of Gillett Street.

Appleton officers took custody of Peschke, due to his potential impairment and he was transported to a local hospital.

Her was later confined at the Outagamie County Jail and faces possible charges of Felony Eluding, Operating a Motor Vehicle without the Owner’s Consent, OWI 4th Offense, Misdemeanor Resisting, Misdemeanor Criminal Damage to Property, and additional warrants.
