APPLETON — Appleton police are investigating an early morning shooting on College Avenue that injured a man.

Officers were called out about 2:15 a.m. Sunday to a disturbance in the 1300 block of W. College Avenue.

Initial reports came in that a group of approximately 20 people were fighting outside, according to a Appleton Police Department news release.

While Officers were responding, additional callers reported hearing gunshots in the area.

When police arrived, they found a 28-year-old Appleton man who had been shot.

The adult male was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing, police said Sunday morning.
