KAUKAUNA — One person was airlifted from scene Tuesday when their vehicle crashed in the town of Buchanan near the northeast side of Kaukauna.

Combined Locks Fire & Rescue was called out about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, with Town of Buchanan Fire and Rescue, City of Kaukauna Fire Department Ambulance, and Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office along with EMS from both departments for a report of a single vehicle roll-over crash at the intersection of County Highway GG and County Highway ZZ in the town of Buchanan.

Initial reports from Outagamie County Communications Center – 911 indicated that one person was trapped and injured and would need extrication, according to a news release from Combined Locks Public Safety.

Engines equipped with the JAWS of Life from Buchanan and Combined Locks responded to the scene, as well as chiefs from both departments.

When emergency crews arrived, they found the vehicle approximately 150’ north of the intersection in a field.

Due to the nature of the crash, rescue officials requested Eagle III helicopter from County Rescue in Green Bay to start to the scene, because ThedaStar was already on a flight.

Personnel from Kaukauna Fire Department, Combined Locks EMS, Buchanan EMS and Outagamie Sheriffs Department rendered immediate aid to the occupant and worked as a team to remove the person from the vehicle quickly.

The patient was treated on scene and then transported to a Green Bay Area hospital for injuries sustained as a result of the crash.

The patient’s condition has not been updated at the time of the news release.
