LITTLE CHUTE — Kaukauna police were among several agencies that responded to a bomb threat at Little Chute High School that turned out to be fake. Now, charges are being referred to Outagamie County Juvenile Intake.

The Fox Valley Metro Police Department responded Wednesday to Little Chute High School and Intermediate school for a report of a bomb threat, according to a news release.

The threat was reported to staff who then notified school administration and the school resource officer.

During the investigation, Little Chute High School, Intermediate School and Middle School were placed on a hold.

School administrators and officers with the Fox Valley Metro Police Department were able to locate the source of the threat and determined that it was not credible.

Police say that the threat was made “as a joke.”

A further search was completed on the school property and no threats to students or staff were located. After the situation was found to be safe, the school’s hold was lifted, and classes resumed on their normal schedule.

The person responsible for making this threat is cooperating with the investigation. As the result of this investigation, charges are being referred to Outagamie County Juvenile Intake.

The Fox Valley Metro Police Department was assisted by the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Appleton Police Department K9 Unit and the Kaukauna Police Department.
