KIMBERLY — Outagamie County is planning a safety upgrade to the Railroad Street intersection in Kimberly with County Highway CE.

A public meeting is being held on Oct. 14, 2021 to explain the project.

A Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT) intersection is being considered as the preferred alternative. An RCUT eliminates a dangerous left turn, and instead directs the drive down the highway where they can make a safer turn.

The Federal Highway Administration explains how it works in a YouTube video HERE.

Final design and right of way acquisition anticipated in 2021 and 2022 with reconstruction currently scheduled for 2023.

Meeting Date: October 14, 2021

Time: 4:30 p.m.

Place: Kimberly Village Hall, 515 W. Kimberly Ave, Kimberly, WI

Project Website: www.outagamie.org/RailroadCE

The purpose of the meeting is to provide a project update, share the current project schedule, and seek input from the public. There will be a brief presentation at 4:30 p.m. followed by an “open house” style discussion.
