KAUKAUNA — Lucas Cromell has been named as the next principal of River View Middle School, according to the school district.
Cromell will replace current Principal Dan Joseph as he retires at the end of the 2020-2021 school year.
Pending Board approval at the April 12 meeting, Cromell will assume the principal position beginning Thursday, July 1, 2021.
Throughout his past five years serving as associate principal at River View, Cromell has developed trust and built relationships with students, staff and families, and has led a number of improvement initiatives at the school. According to a news release.
“Luke’s use of both ‘art’ and ‘science’ in his decision-making and work, as well as his passion to continue to serve the River View community were strikingly clear during the interview process,” KASD Superintendent Mark Duerwaechter said in thterelease.
“He is well-known and well-liked as an Associate Principal, is professionally ready to begin this new journey, and will have a seamless transition into this role serving KASD and River View Middle School.”
Prior to joining the KASD staff in 2016, Cromell served the Oconto Falls School District, most recently as Assistant Principal at the middle school level, but also as the Mentor Program Consortium Director and ESL Coordinator after teaching high school Spanish.
Additionally, and prior to teaching, he served in the United States Air Force as a Spanish Linguist.
