KAUKAUANA — The Kaukauna girls basketball team opened its post-season run Tuesday with a home game against Appleton West.
The fourth seeded Ghosts defeated fifth seeded Appleton West 78-69.
The win sets up a showdown Friday against No. 1 seed Kimberly. The winner of that game plays in the regional final Saturday.
The brackets will be reseeded prior to sectional semifinals that are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 18 with the sectional finals on Saturday, Feb. 20.

The State Tournament semifinal pairings will be determined by reseeding all four teams. The State championship games will be played Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 25-27 at two different sites. One site is the La Crosse Center in La Crosse, Wis. and the second site is yet to be determined.
