Kaukauna School District news release

KAUKAUNA — Park Community Charter School and River View Middle School will take time on Friday, Nov. 11, 2016 to honor our country’s veterans in separate ceremonies celebrating Veterans Day. All veterans are welcome and invited to attend these programs.

River View Middle School

River View Middle School will hold an assembly for eighth grade students on Friday, Nov. 11 at 1:15 p.m. in the school’s auditorium.

help_wanted_adThe program will include the presentation of the flag by the Boy Scouts, the Pledge of Allegiance, the Star Spangled Banner (sung by the jazz choir) and recognition of any veterans present.

Students with family members serving in the military will be recognized as well, and there will be a moment of silence honoring all fallen veterans.

Several featured veterans (spanning from World War II through Operating Enduring Freedom) will speak at the ceremony, and some students will share presentation on what “freedom” means to them. The eighth grade choir will sing Unsung Hero and the ceremony will conclude around 2:45 p.m. with a selection performed by the eighth grade band.

This celebration is open to the public and all veterans are invited to attend. Please enter through the front doors (by the canopy) and check in at the River View Middle School lobby for a brief social between 12:30 and 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11.

Park Community Charter School

Park Community Charter School students will participate in the Veterans Day Ceremony taking place from 11 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, 420 Lawe St., Kaukauna. This ceremony is open to the public.

Park Community students will perform a song and second grade students will present the funds they have raised to help with maintenance of the park. (Those wishing to contribute prior to the event, please contact the school office at 920-766-6129.)
