APPLETON — A winning $50,000 Mega Millions ticket was sold at Northsider on North Richmond in Appleton for last night’s drawing, giving one player a five-times bigger prize thanks to the game’s built-in multiplier.
The winning ticket matched four of five numbers (13-28-33-35-48) and the Mega Ball (3), earning a $10,000 win. With a 5X Multiplier included on the ticket, that prize grew to $50,000.
Appleton has seen more than a few big Lottery wins in 2026. In January, a $50,000 Powerball ticket was sold at a Kwik Trip and more recently, a Clark station sold one of two winning Badger 5 jackpot tickets for the October 18 drawing, splitting $276,000 with a ticket sold in Greenfield.
Last night’s Mega Millions win highlights one of the game’s biggest changes, which was implemented in April 2025. The revamped game includes a multiplier on every ticket, automatically giving non-jackpot prizes the chance to grow without purchasing an add-on. Earlier this month, a Kwik Trip in Menomonee Falls sold a winning $1,000,000 Mega Millions ticket – which featured a 4X Multiplier, bumping $1,000,000 to a $4,000,000 prize. It marked the biggest Lottery winner of 2026 so far in Wisconsin.
The estimated Mega Millions jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing is $433 million.
Wisconsin Lottery retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive a two percent Retailer Performance Winning Ticket Incentive, up to $100,000.
Players have 180 days from the draw date to claim their winnings. Information on how to claim a prize is available at wilottery.com. Players can also check their tickets using the Wisconsin Lottery mobile app, available at the App Store or Google Play.
