FOX CROSSING — Help has arrived.
The Fox Crossing Fire Department announced they’ve acquired a replacement engine as they continue to recover from July’s devastating tornado.
The new-to-them engine arrived last week, according to a social media post from the department.
The department recently purchased this engine from the Butler Volunteer Fire Department following their department’s closure, and last week Station 41 Lt. Raddatz drove it home to Fox Crossing.
As the tornado struck July 27, Fire Station 41’s roof was torn away and parts of the building collapsed.

The fire apparatus inside the station also sustained severe damage and was unable to be placed back in service.
The fire trucks were covered by concrete debris from the collapsed walls and twisted metal from the station’s roof.
There still is some work to be done on the replacement engine before it officially goes into service, but piece by piece the department is rebuilding.
