KAUKAUNA — A Kaukauna student received a heartwarming sendoff on her last day of the school year as she prepares for a new round of surgery.
Kaukauna High School principal Aaron Herm shared video on social media of Brooklyn’s classmates cheering her on.
In a post to the Kaukauna Community Group, Brooklyn’s mother, Dana Hintz Converse, explained the new challenge facing her daughter.
Brooklyn was born with Treacher Collins Syndrome which affects the bone structure of her face and narrow airway.
She has a trach, feeding tube & hearing aids.
She will be having surgeries in Chicago in hopes of eventually being able to remove the trach.
The family has started a GoFundMe to help the family cover the costs of time off work, gas, food and other travel expenses as they support Brooklyn through her surgery and recovery.
