MADISON — Your teen will now be required to learn about school bus and student crossing safety when they take driver’s ed, following legislation signed into law this week.
Gov. Tony Evers signed Senate Bill 392, mandating that all approved driver education courses include instruction on school bus lights and highway configurations.
According to a news release, the bill, now 2025 Wisconsin Act 209, requires all approved driver education courses to include instruction relating to student crossings and school bus lights.
The training must also cover when vehicles are required to stop for a school bus and how those requirements change based on the configuration of the highway.
