KAUKAUNA — The 57th Annual Holy Cross Men’s Open basketball tournament continues this weekend at the Carl Giordana Gymnasium, featuring a competitive field of amateur teams and high-profile players from across the region.
Play resumes at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 10 with a game between McCarty Law and the Milwaukee Basketball Club, and the tournament concludes with a 7:15 p.m. championship game on Sunday evening.
The tournament has already seen several high-scoring matchups during the opening rounds. McCarty Law secured a spot in the quarterfinals after a 115-73 victory over DeValk Roofing, while the Milwaukee Basketball Club advanced by defeating Wingait Farms 98-83.
Other early winners included Dvorak Wealth Management, Hurley Insurance, U.W. Health and D3 Hoopers.
Rosters include notable athletes such as Kaukauna High’s Andrew Jensen, a Mr. Wisconsin Basketball finalist who will play college basketball next year at De Paul University. Mr. Basketball Zavier Zens of state champion Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Ben Brust formerly of U.W.-Madison, and Jake Hottenstine of Minnesota Duluth. The tournament serves as a showcase for both former collegiate standouts and current high school stars.
The consolation game is scheduled for 6 p.m., Sunday followed by the tournament championship at 7:15 p.m. All games are being held at the Carl Giordana Gymnasium in Kaukauna.
