BLACK CREEK — Three people, including a juvenile, were injured Friday evening in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Wisconsin Highway 47 and Brandt Road.
According to a news release from the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office, a 28-year-old Appleton woman was traveling southbound on Highway 47 at approximately 5:40 p.m. when she lost control of her vehicle.
The vehicle crossed the centerline into oncoming traffic and was struck by a northbound SUV.
The 28-year-old driver was flown to a local hospital by Eagle III with injuries described as critical.
The driver of the SUV, a 39-year-old woman from Brillion, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
A juvenile female passenger in the SUV, also from Brillion, sustained minor injuries and was also taken to a local hospital.
Investigators believe icy road conditions contributed to the accident.
The highway remained closed for approximately four hours while emergency crews cleared the scene but has since been reopened to traffic.
The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Outagamie County Highway Department, and multiple fire and rescue units from Black Creek, Nichols and Seymour.
