Thank you readers. Ten years ago today we began sharing news about our hometown online and on our Facebook page and group.
With a combined 35,000 followers, our project has grown dramatically and is unique for small communities in Wisconsin.
As fewer people get the paper, and TV news is spread too thin, our goal always has been to fill the gap with news important to Kaukauna.
As regular followers know, in the past ten years we’ve reunited countless pets and helped untold misdelivered packages find their rightful owners.
But more importantly, we’ve tried to help the community better understand the news that affects everyone who lives here, whether it’s been coping with tragedy or shining a light on local government.
We’ve tried to celebrate our community and the contributions people make both large and small, as well as providing a vibrant forum for discussion and debate in our Facebook group.
Thanks to everyone who has read our stories, commented on posts, contributed to the group and reached out to share a tip.
It’s that community engagement that makes this project worthwhile every day.
