KAUKAUNA – Kaukauna Area School District invites all community members to a groundbreaking to celebrate the district starting renovations at Victor Haen Elementary School, which is the result of a successful November 2024 referendum.
The brief ceremony will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Victor Haen Elementary School. In case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled.
According to a district news release, attendees will have an opportunity to hear from district leaders and witness a ceremonial shovel turn to kick off construction of the voter-approved renovations and addition at Haen Elementary School.
Following the ceremony, students will take part in a special “touch-a-truck” experience with Miron Construction, where they can explore equipment, meet operators, and even participate in a kid-sized groundbreaking activity. All are welcome to attend!
On November 5, 2024, residents supported a $198 million facilities referendum that the district says is student-centered, community-driven, and future-focused.
Based on community feedback, the major project components include building an innovative, new middle school, expanding access to 4K and 5K programs at Victor Haen Elementary, renovating key areas at Park Community Charter School, enhancing safety and security across all district schools, and addressing high-priority maintenance needs.
District administration, staff, students, community members, and partners will be on hand as the first shovelful of dirt is overturned. Additional details can be found on the District’s website.
