OSHKOSH — NBA star Tyrese Haliburton returned to his alma mater, Oshkosh North High School, on Friday to host a basketball camp for local youth and announce a significant donation to the school’s athletic programs.
The Indiana Pacers guard, a two-time NBA All-Star, has committed a $3 million donation over three years to improve facilities at the school where his basketball journey began.
The money will be used for several key upgrades, including a brand-new video board and scoreboard for the gymnasium. In addition, the school’s weight room will undergo a full renovation.
Haliburton’s donation was announced during a ceremony dedicating the Frank Schade Fieldhouse, named after his former high school coach.
Haliburton and Kaukauna’s Jordan McCabe were the state’s top two basketball players in 2018, with McCabe being named Mr. Basketball following the Ghosts division 2 state title and Haliburton leading his team to the division 2 title.
