KAUKAUNA — Judge Susan Crawford will win the race for justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, according to projections by the Associated Press.

Crawford, supported by liberals has been declared the winner over Brad Schimel, supported by conservatives in the officially non-partisan race.

As of 9:15 p.m., the Associated Press gave Crawford a 55.8 to 44.2 lead over Schimel with 70 percent of precincts reporting.

  • Crawford 1,041,857
  • Schimel 857,900

The win maintains the courts current liberal majority, with likely votes on abortion access and redistricting on the docket in the years ahead.

The most expensive state supreme court election in U.S. history was considered a litmus test of how voters feel about Trump’s first months back in office and the role played by Musk and his controversial cost-cutting agency, the Department of Government Efficiency. Musk traveled to Wisconsin on Sunday to make a pitch for Schimel and personally hand out $1 million checks to two voters.
