DARBOY — The Harrison Village Board last week approved a contract with Northern Lights Drone Shows for July to replace the traditional fireworks.

The $25,000 contract provides a 200 drone show as part of the Kiwanis Club event in the Darboy Community Park, according to a news release from the village.

This drone show will be in place of the fireworks display and is the first of its kind in the Fox Valley, according to the village.

During drone shows, multiple drones are flown to create imagery in the sky, according to the Caledonia, Wisconsin, based company.

The images can appear to be 3D. This imagery can also be synchronized with a soundtrack to captivate audiences with sight and sound.

The drones are equipped with color-changing LED lights and shows typically occur during night or dusk so the LED lights are more visible.
